Leaving Ranthambore

We are back from our last safari drive, and about to get on the bus for the long drive to Jaipur. We've had some amazing and relaxing time here. We had 5 total tiger sightings, all of which were incredible. We also saw peacocks doing the dance, as they call it. Two males had their feathers extended, shaking at each other. The feathers were actually clacking so loudly that we could hear them from 50 feet away. Then a third male walked up and put his tail out too, while the drab little hen just stood there indecisively.

We also saw a gorgeous painted stork this morning, and a cute little spotted owlet in a tree. A flock of brilliant green parakeets glittered up around our jeep. We saw antelope and slinky mongooses ( mongeese?). We also saw crocodiles!

Yesterday, students had the option to ride camels, so quite a number took the experience. The camels lurched and bumped, and they rode into the nearby village. It was quite an experience, or so I heard!

Now, on to the beautiful city of Jaipur...
