"This is going to be a great story someday!"

Let's just say that the night train to Agra was an adventure. The train was especially grubby, with visible grime on the berths and upholstery. The floors were black and sticky. There were gaping holes in some of the seats. And there were some serious roaches pretty much everywhere. It was definitely not the glamorous side of India, and it was a real stretch for some of the students. While our guide encouraged us to think of the roaches as part of the cycle of life, more than a few of them were violently smashed into their next karmic cycle by some deftly wielded shoes.

But we made it safely to Agra, where we are about to head out to see Shah Jahan's palace overlooking the Taj Mahal. We'll see the Taj Mahal itself tomorrow morning in the sunrise.
